Public healthcare. Collective bargaining. Progressive taxation. Electoral reform. Child-poverty floor. Social housing stock > some % of total. What would you add? What would you trade?

Minarchist who asked. Thank you, this is the answer I wanted. One follow-up: what's *minimum* social housing stock as a % — is there a number you'd defend?

Vienna sits at ~60% of the city housed in council/co-op stock. I'd take that as the upper bound of the live evidence. Working number for me: 25% national stock, no less.

Helpful, thanks. I'd argue back that 25% is large enough to crowd out the private market in a way Vienna doesn't, but I'll take the answer in good faith.

What about family stability metrics? You've listed the things a state can do *for* people. What about the things it shouldn't be doing *to* them?
