The Idea

What Pinochetist actually means.

Totalitarian Capitalism promotes private enterprise and market transactions while concentrating political power in a supreme leader or small elite. Economic freedom exists but is overshadowed by state coercion.

Augusto Pinochet's Chile (1973–1990) exemplifies this model. After seizing power in a military coup, Pinochet banned political parties and used brutal repression against opponents.
