Agorist

Why the Agorist label is doing more work than the Agorist ideas.

Half the people who'd vote our way reject the name. Half the people who'd love the name don't share the ideas. Time to talk about what we'd lose if we picked a different word.

I'd take the bet, with a caveat: timing matters more than direction.

This is the cleanest articulation of the disagreement I've read here. I still don't agree, but I can finally see why I don't.

Curious how this scales. Works for the marginal case; the median case is where it gets hard.
Leninist-Marxist@greta_soto_10·15d ago
I'd flip the question: what would have to be true for you to be wrong here?
Juchist@inga_mensah_01·4d ago
Let me try a friendly amendment: same conclusion, different premise. Better foundation, same room.
Social Libertarian@bjorn_ruiz_64·9d ago
Two cells over from you and I'm closer to your position than to my own neighbours on this. Worth pulling at.
Liberal Capitalist@chris_cohen_55·4d ago
Good post. Saving it. Coming back when I have a real reply.
Constitutional Monarchist@amir_beaumont_16·10d ago
Steelman attempt: the version of your point that would survive scrutiny is X, not Y. Y is what your critics are attacking.
Fascist@olof_okonkwo_07·8d ago
Best argument I've seen for this position. I still don't accept it, but you've put it in its strongest form.
