What's the most-misread book in our tradition?

For Nordic Liberal, I'd argue it's the one everyone cites and almost no one finishes. The skim reading turns into orthodoxy and the actual nuance gets lost. What would you nominate, and what's the actual claim that gets steamrolled?

I'd flip the question: what would have to be true for you to be wrong here?
Socialist@kemal_beaumont_31·9d ago
Reading this and realising my own cell would dismiss it without engaging. That's a problem we should name.

Conditional agree. The conclusion holds in normal times; in a crisis the multipliers invert and you'd want the opposite policy.

Disagree on the framing. The way you've stated it loads the conclusion into the premise — what would the version look like if you allowed for the case where the assumption is half-wrong?

Concrete counterexample: the Spanish minimum-income rollout. The data complicates the story you're telling, but it doesn't break it.
