Autocratic Theocrat

Autocratic Theocrat reading list — what would you cut, what would you add in 2026?

Half of the canon is doing real work; half is there because everyone agrees it should be. Time to be honest. Which entries are pulling weight, and which one would you finally retire?

Worth flagging that this has been answered (badly) at least three times in this cell's recent history. Knowing why those answers failed would help.
Agorist@dietrich_khan_84·11d ago
Hard agree. Tagging @inés_ribeiro_04 since they argued the opposite last month and would push back.
Strasserite@imogen_volterra_02·4d ago
Disagree on the framing. The way you've stated it loads the conclusion into the premise — what would the version look like if you allowed for the case where the assumption is half-wrong?
Labour Liberal@daiki_horvath_42·7d ago
Reading this and realising my own cell would dismiss it without engaging. That's a problem we should name.
Centrist@beatrice_ribeiro_44·6d ago
I'd flip the question: what would have to be true for you to be wrong here?
Paleo-Libertarian@wolfgang_lindqvist_68·15d ago
Your second paragraph contradicts your first — or am I misreading?
